From Cassy's diary
Sirio is growing up quickly, even if it feels like he was born just yesterday he's already staggering around the house with curiosity. He is also very attached to me, perhaps a bit too much also, and he never misses an opportunity to be hugged.
Even if he doesn't realize it, the more he grows the more the resemblance to his dad is evident. I'm quite sure he also inherited some of his propensity for telepathy, because the little one notices our mood in no time and starts crying whenever he perceives any negative emotion like anger or sadness from us. Luckily this doesn't happen often anymore, the more time passes the more we are all getting used to this new normality, and we feel happy as we are.
Cassy: This is a toothbrush. Toothbrush.
Sirio: Brushy!
Cassy: Well, close enough...
Cassy: Instead this one is a...
Sirio: Cat!
Cassy: That's right, good job!
Even Venus and Steve spent a lot of time with him, to the point that Sirio started asking the other kindergarten children where their uncles and aunts were all the time.
Steve: It was your grandpa to write this book, you know? He really knew a lot of stories, and there are many other books like this at the library.
Sirio: (weeping) Where's mum?
Steve: She and Aunt Venus are at work... But they'll be back very soon today too, don't worry!
As I was saying, perhaps Sirio is a bit too attached to me. We even talked about it with his kindergarten teachers, but we really don't understand why. Sometimes I have the feeling that pleasing him and remaining by his side would be the easiest solution, it's so nice seeing him smiling... However, rationally, we all agree that it's also important for him to learn to stay away from me from time to time. And so we do (even if it's so hard, some days...)

Our life continued on this rhythm for several months, mostly centred around the newest addition to the Miller household. Soon after, however, new big news arrived.
Venus: (from upstairs) Cassy Cassy Cassy!
Cassy: What's up, what's up, what's up?
Venus ran downstairs in a flash, whatever had happened she couldn't wait anymore to tell me.
Venus: I gotta tell you something crazy!
Venus: I'm pregnant!
Cassy: Really? Congrats!
Venus: I can't wait to tell it to Steve too!
Cassy: It's a shame he's at work now.
Sirio: You're very happy!
Venus: Yes, that's right!
Sirio: Why?
Cassy: Soon you will have a little cousin to play with. Are not you happy?
Sirio: Yeah!
Luckily Steve's work shift was over a few hours later, because Venus couldn't resist much longer without telling him.
I know they have been trying to have a baby for quite some time now. I admit I could be just a little bit envious of how smooth the announcement went for my sister, but above all I'm very happy for them. They really deserve it.
And so our family was getting ready to get larger, and even less conventional...

From Venus' diary
I'm starting to relate to what Cassy used to say when she was the pregnant one, sometimes nausea can be quite annoying. Or, probably, I would be better to say that it is bad most of the time. But most of the time this is definitively not enough to slow me down, there is still so much to do!
Venus: There is still an empty room upstairs, it would be perfect for the baby!
Steve: I've already drawn a sketch for a project, what do you think?
Steve is really good at designing things, from his drawing I can already see the little bedroom finished.
There are still a lot of things to do, but we have clear ideas about what we want and that's what matters.
A short time later Steve's birthday also arrived. It was a good party, we also invited a few neighbours and we all had fun.
Cassy: Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday...Time keeps ticking, but after all the bad things that have happened to us we seem to have got back on the right track.
The pregnancy had come to its conclusion in no time. We were prepared, or at least we thought we knew what to expect, but when the moment really came the situation became chaotic so quickly...
Venus: Steve, I think it's the time!
So Steve jumped out of bed and accompanied me to the hospital.
I'm pretty sure that's the same doctor who took care of Cassy as well...
And that's how little Halley joined the family too!
Venus: C'mon honey, it's time to sleep!
Even Sirio seems to have immediately liked her, don't you agree, my dear diary?
Sirio: Um...

This chapter was evidently still very focused on legacy and gameplay related matters, but from the next chapter onwards plot relevant events will be present again.
For all those who were curious to see how Sirio would look like when growing up, yes, he clearly has some tendrils on the head as well (even if smaller than Toq's ones). I downloaded his "hairstyle" from this blog, and I did the conversion to toddler and child by myself (so, of course, it won't clip very well with his head for a while, in particular under some light conditions).
Sirio also got the "clingy" trait when growing up, meaning that he got sad very easily whenever Cassy left the building.
At this point I was hoping that Halley would have got an easier trait to play with, but instead...
As for Halley, I didn't show her because she was born affected by the same bug as Sirio was. At least she was the last one to suffer from it, and we can more on with the rest of the legacy. Here is how she looked when born, anyway:
